The classroom volunteer teacher/tutor works with adults who are learning the English language skills necessary for living and working in the community; provides classroom support for ESOL instructors by interacting with students, assisting students with class and home assignment, tutoring, leading and supervising projects, and facilitating conversation groups.  Classes Monday-Thursday and operate on the Lynn Public Schools calendar for holidays, breaks and vacations.  Morning classes are 9AM-12PM; afternoon classes are 1-3PM and evening classes meet 6-8PM.

Assist classroom teacher with various tasks. Work with students one on one or in a group setting. Help with technology including Chromebooks, phones and websites. Assist teacher as needed throughout the class. 

Meet us at our shelter to help unload food delivered by the Greater Boston Food Bank and to organize it within the shelter pantry. Volunteers should be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.

Volunteers will support the Harvest Festival, an event for families, by helping with setup/breakdown, decorations, facilitating activities, food, sign-in, etc.

We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to meet us at our shelter in Dorchester, ride with our staff in the van to the Greater Boston Food Bank, help load the monthly food order into the van, and ride back to the shelter to unload the food and organize it within the shelter pantry. Volunteers should be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.

We are looking for 1 or more interns or volunteers to help us conduct intakes for new clients and to connect with returning clients who need to update their data. This role requires someone with Spanish and/or Haitian Creole language skills, along with basic computer skills.

As a volunteer at Catholic Charities’ Yawkey Food Pantry, your role will include restocking pantry shelves, helping with product selection, preparing bags for distribution, client intake, some light cleaning, and helping lift and transport light to moderately-heavy items. The Yawkey Food Pantry serves many Hispanic, Haitian, and Cape Verdean clients, so language skills in these areas are highly desired.

Parking at this site is extremely limited, and we encourage volunteers to use MBTA whenever possible. If you drive, we ask that you please do not park in the building's lot during business hours. 

Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes are encouraged, as volunteers sometimes work outside. Gloves will be provided, if needed. Upon arrival, please ring the doorbell of the front door and ask for the food pantry team at the front desk.

As a volunteer at Catholic Charities’ Lowell Food Pantry, your primary role will be to compassionately render distribution of food items to the clients in our pantry, while maintaining personal and professional boundaries. This may include restocking pantry shelves, helping with product selection, preparing bags for distribution, client intake, some light cleaning, and helping lift and transport light to moderately-heavy items. Volunteers are asked to display sensitivity to the needs of individuals and families experiencing financial hardships, mental illness, trauma, and those from varied cultural backgrounds. Client confidentiality is necessary as well. The Lowell Food Pantry serves many Hispanic, Haitian, and Asian clients, so volunteers with Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Khmer speaking skills are highly desired.  

Parking at this site is available across the street in the Central Plaza Shopping Center, or you can take the commuter rail followed by a 15 minute walk.

As a volunteer at Catholic Charities’ Lynn Food Pantry, your role will include restocking pantry shelves, helping with product selection, preparing bags for distribution, client intake, some light cleaning, and helping lift and transport light to moderately-heavy items. The Lynn Food Pantry serves many  Hispanic, Haitian, Russian, and Ukrainian clients, so language skills in these areas are highly desired.

Parking at this site is available in a paid parking lot on Silsbee Street and on Ellis Street. We ask that you do not park immediately behind the Greater Lynn Senior Services Building.
