North Child Care Centers – Peabody

Who We Are

For over a century, Catholic Charities Boston has helped vulnerable individuals and families of all faiths and backgrounds. One of the most comprehensive non-profit providers of social services in Massachusetts, we offer over 70 programs across more than 20 locations throughout Greater Boston, with 450 employees serving thousands of individuals and families annually within the four core areas of Basic Needs, Family & Youth Services, Refugee & Immigrant Services, and Adult Education & Workforce Development.

Rooted in our faith mission, we address critical social justice issues with compassion and aim to break the cycles of poverty in our communities.

What We Do

Volunteers in our Child Care programs help create safe, welcoming, and engaging environments for young children through classroom support, activities, reading, and play.

Background Check, Fingerprinting, and Medical Requirements

All youth-facing volunteers are legally required to complete the Department of Early Education and Care Background Record Check (EEC-BRC), which includes CORI, DCF, SORI, fingerprinting, and national background checks as required by the state of Massachusetts.

Please note: fingerprinting typically costs $30–$35, and volunteers are responsible for this expense.

In addition, the Early Childhood Education department requires volunteers and interns who spend extended time in child care centers to provide documentation of a recent physical examination. Volunteers should submit a copy of a physical completed within the past two years. If you have not had a recent physical, documentation of a scheduled appointment may be accepted. Volunteers must also provide proof of MMR vaccination or an approved exemption.
