The Haitian Multi-Service Center (HMSC) at Catholic Charities Yawkey Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to assist with a basic computer skills class for adult learners! This is a rewarding opportunity to directly impact the lives of adult learners as they pursue their educational and career goals. The program operates on Boston Public Schools schedule for holidays and breaks.
Requirements:
- Support the Computer Skills instructor during class activities.
- Sit one-on-one with students who need assistance with computer tasks, as needed.
- Assist students with setting up and putting away laptops, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Availability on Monday mornings from 9:00-11:00 AM.
- Commitment of at least 3 months.
- Comfort with technology.
- Must be able to communicate patiently and empathetically with adults who may have limited computer skills and may be anxious with technology.
- Desire to support adult learners.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience working with adult learners or in an educational setting is desirable, but not required.
